Players Locked Into Elevated Events
Hi All!
Welcome to all our new subscribers joining in for our weekly wrap up of prize money payouts, world ranking movers and opinionated golf content!
Players will now be allowed to skip one elevated event on the PGA Tour per season.
Wait - what!??
There are a total of 13 elevated events in the new PGA Tour season, not to mention the 4 majors and 3 FedEx Cup events. These events are obviously in place to attract the strongest fields possible.
Jon Rahm (amongst others) has already pushed back on this idea and it is undoubtedly going to be revised in coming months. This will certainly be one method of having players jump ship when they are forced to play in that many elevated events and not choose their preferred schedule.
It’s almost strange how the professional game works though. When just starting out, players will play in as many events as they need to in order to secure status/move up the rankings etc, but once they have reached the upper echelons of the game and are a top 10 player in the world - I’d be very surprised if they played more than 24 events in a year.
The better you are, the less you play!

Pat Perez has the last laugh at those poking fun at him being the ‘spare wheel’ for the 4 Aces throughout the first LIV season. He doesn’t care what they think! He’s just made a little over $8 million in a handful of events!
The driver distance announcement is coming soon. The R&A, USGA and the governing bodies of golf have been studying the detail and stats since February 2020 and it’s just a matter of time before they roll back technology. I think it’ll be great for the game.

Just can’t seem to workout if she did 6 or 7 tricks?? Great swing though 😅
