Hey Everyone
Welcome to all our new subscribers joining in for our weekly TM wrap up of prize money payouts, world ranking movers and opinionated golf content!
We’re coming to you a day earlier than usual this week because of the early start at WGC-Dell Matchplay. The sole singles Matchplay event of the year.
Quick one - I actually wish the old format of the Matchplay was still around. 1 vs 64, 2 vs 63 etc and knockout from the word go. That would make first round viewing for the fans all the better! Tennis players do it each week, all year and around the world so why can’t golfers do it one week of the year?
Right! Onto this week’s features in The Mulligan..

A quick glance at some engaging, interesting, contentious, ridiculous tweets over the last week.
I’m glad Thomas Bjorn brought this up…according to Golf Digest, there are only three players that have won 3 or more times in last 12 months. Well they are completely incorrect.
Viktor Hovland, Nelly Korda, Ko Jin-Young, Garrick Higgo have also done it - just to name a few. Comment below if you know of any more multiple winners in the last year?
Here’s a ‘spot the difference’ for you in Lee Westwood’s swing. 14 years apart yet astoundingly similar.
A flashback to Tiger’s comeback at the 2008 WGC Matchplay. 3 down with 5 to play and Tiger did Tiger’s thing!!

Two weeks to go to the Masters & here’s a flashback to Tiger chipping in at the 16th in final round of 2005. A nice marketing punt for Nike too with the swoosh of the golf ball almost static towards the camera before falling! What a moment…

The USGA & R&A have released their annual distance report. Quite interesting to see (for most part) year on year growth and the detail that surrounds distance gains.
