Fifteen Top 100 OWGR Players In
We’ll know in May exactly who they are, but 15 of the world’s Top 100 have reportedly entered the first LIV Golf event being hosted in London from 9 - 11 June.
The Telegraph reported that Ian Poulter, Kevin Na, Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen could be involved.
Also mentions (only mentions, no confirmations) of the following players:
Adam Scott
Lee Westwood
Jason Kokrak
Bubba Watson
Matthew Wolff
Tyrrell Hatton
Shane Lowry
Marc Leishman
Paul Casey
Patrick Reed
These names together with the already known Phil Mickelson and Robert Garrigus.
So many people have stated there will be no pull in terms of crowds or television interest however, if a high percentage of the above players do end up playing in (at least) the first event it would be interesting to watch. There has also been talk of no major networks airing the tournaments, but I am positive there will be some way and form to watch.
With all due respect, events on the Asian & Sunshine Tours are televised with very weak Strength of Fields (SOF) and little if any drawcard players. People have also mentioned they aren’t interested in watching the ‘has-beens’ of golf competing in the SGL, but the Champions Tour is televised every week…🤷♂️
If it’s televised, people will watch.
Going back to the first four players possibly involved, I must say I am quite surprised of Louis’ decision - if indeed it turns out to be true. Whilst it seems on the outside that he plays as little as he really needs to each season as he has other interests and also enjoys his family time, you’d still think he’s the type of player to stick with the PGA Tour as he’s still got a good 4 - 6 years of being in his prime.
Some time in May, we’ll all find out.

Jon Rahm believes the golfing world shouldn’t forget how much of a legend Phil Mickelson has been in the game because of one or two comments.
Unsurprisingly, Trump National Doral Miami will host the season ending LIV Golf teams tournament with a purse of $50 million.
Wait a second! 😳
Whatever you do, don’t purchase any fake golf club EVER. Rick Shiels purchased a Taylormade M6 Driver via wish.com and compared it to the original. Interesting 12:53 video (if you have the time).

An interesting look at the putters used by the Top 10 in Strokes Gained Putting on the PGA Tour. Surprisingly not standouts, but interesting nonetheless.
