The $60 Million Backyard Golf Course
It’s called Three Ponds Farm and it’s in the Hamptons.
A 60 Acre property just 90 miles from New York City features 18 holes, 4 greens, 3 fairways and just an absolute gem of a design by the legendary Rees Jones. Jones himself was made the first member of this members only course. No mention has been of how many members there are, but cannot imagine there can be more than 50. Basically just close friends and family.
It’s even got it’s own clubhouse, pro shop, wet bar, locker room, barn and grass tennis court. It even has its own custom pencils, scorecards, golf balls and a full time greenkeeper.
For a minute you actually think it’s a regular golf course where you book your tee time, pitch up, pay your green fees and head out. However, this was the background playground of a multimillionaire - the late Edward S Gordon.
One word. PHENOMENAL.
Below is an image from 2014.
Here is a more recent image from last week via Trey Kemp on Twitter. Notice how he’s added in a practice Par 3 wedge area at the front of his house (bottom right of image). Simply put - gobsmacked. 😳
Deemed by the former executive of the USJ as ‘the most creative golf course he has ever seen’ and was almost confusing for those helping build the course in the early stages. Check out the 03:42 minute video below of the entire property.
The main residence was designed by classical architect All Greensburg and includes a grand living room, a formal dining room, a wood-paneled office, eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms in 25,000 square feet. Elegant pillars, detailed moulding and hardwood decorative features.
Being an avid golfer, imagine you were asked to housesit this beauty for a week. Fairly decent?
This is every golfer’s dream and sorry to bring you back down to reality, but that’s all it is ever going to be for 99.99999% of us - a dream! Still just incredible to admire just how tranquil, impressive and beautiful this place looks.
On a distantly related note, check out the below tweet from Alan Tait who ‘woke up and the guys house you crashed at has the 12th at Augusta in his back garden’!

✅ Golf Snippets
Shane Lowry wasn’t too chuffed with the behaviour of Patrick Cantlay and a few others including Bryson DeChambeau & Justin Thomas from Team USA.
Check out how flexible Ben Kohles is in this 40 second clip whilst warming up before the Sanderson Farms. It’s like he’s double jointed!
It made worldwide news last week, but in case you didn’t see it here’s the scorecard from Alejandro Del Ray’s record setting 14 under 58 on the Challenge Tour!
A lengthy, but very interesting article from Golf Digest about Scott Fawcett’s DECADE scoring system. Will Zalatoris swears by it. Plenty of info, but one point he mentions is he begs pros to stop trying to make birdies. Golf is about bogey avoidance and as the old school guys (yes Dad 😆) say ‘the birdies will come’!
Wait a Second!
This isn’t Masters time, but saw this on Twitter earlier this week and just gives proper goosebumps each and every time you watch it! Tiger’s famous chip in at the 16th from 2005.

Eamon Lynch gives an interesting view on the modern day player/caddie relationship and the ‘family’ aspect of it has its limits. The most recent partings being Justin Thomas and Bubba Watson with both their caddies.
